Harness racing needs its own cable TV channel. This channel would emphasize the racing participants (horses and people) and “behind-the-scenes” stories, in addition to live racing.
Between races we retain existing viewers, by presenting all of the interesting (and there are many) aspects of harness racing. Feature stories about how harness racing came about, how the horse is raised to race and the desire they have to race, including the love of the caregivers, trainers, drivers and owners. Compassion, excitement, and honesty are the keys to making harness racing stimulating. People must fall in love with the horses as we do.
Our show would include visit to the paddocks and interviews with the owners, trainers, care takers and drivers. Remember, this is a program, and the entire time should be spent entertaining the viewers, interwoven with some advertising.
